Tyres, air conditioning, drivetrain and inspection
If a tyre wears more on the inside, the outside or in the middle, that says something about the cause. Pressure that is too low or too high, the position of the wheels and wear in the suspension often come into it. The sooner you spot it, the better the chance of saving the tyre.

Possible causes
These are possibilities, not a diagnosis. A technician identifies which cause fits your car after checking it.
Pressure that is too low causes more wear at the edges, and pressure that is too high more in the middle.
If the wheels are not correctly set in relation to each other, the tyre can wear faster on one side.
Poorly working damping can cause wavy wear.
A wheel that does not run true can, in time, wear unevenly and vibrate.
Hard braking, fast cornering or never rotating the tyres can affect wear.
Keep driving?
Usually yes, as long as there is still plenty of tread and the tyre shows no damage. Do have it checked in good time, so that the cause is dealt with before you fit new tyres. With too little tread or visible damage, it is better to have the tyre replaced straight away.
